Most alcohol markers are two-sided and the ink should be distributed evenly on both tips. If you hold your markers vertically for a long time, one of the tips will dry out and it will take some time to return the ink to that side of the marker (which is not very good in most cases because sketching is quick and expressive process). The horizontal orientation of markers storage does not have this disadvantage. Your markers are ready to use at any time!

The slope of cell surface implies markers protection from accidental fall due to vibration or shock.
